You are the Music Takers.

In case you do not know, my name is Ryan and I account for all 78 inches of this tall tale website.  I have aspirations that involve reviewing every CD that I own on these pages, but that seems unlikely to happen any time soon.  If you want to read dank CD reviews of the kind of music I particularly enjoy, try visiting a site like Trout.  For now you will have to be satisfied downloading original music in the mp3 format, music that I have made with my friends.  We have posted a lot of good stuff on MP3.com

As Silliness, we have been involved with the writing and recording of silly songs, and as
The AC Sessions
, we have been involved with the writing and recording of serious songs.

Back in May of 1999, as I sat around Boston awaiting my college graduation, I spent a day recording a parody of My Name Is (Slim Shady) by rapper Eminem.  My friend Andrew Wollman had the idea for a Russian parody of this song, and I decided to try and pull it off.  I composed all the music on my Boss DR5 synthesizer, and packed the rhyme full of every Russian reference I could think of.  When I played the finished product for my friend Joshua, he laughed so hard that he had to stop the tape twice.  That was reward enough for the work I put into it: watching a friend cry laughing thanks to my Soviet parody of some white guy's Top 40 farcical rap song.

The finished product is titled My Name Is (Ivelnikov).  MP3.com refuses to post it because of possible copyright problems, so to download it right click on the link above and choose save.  You'll be glad you did.
